Prediction Analysis of Microarrays in Excel

PAM (Prediction Analysis of Microarrays) is a technique for performing
sample classification from gene expression data using the nearest
shrunken centroid method. The method is described in the paper Diagnosis
of multiple cancer types by shrunken centroids of gene expression,
Proccedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2002 99:6567-6572

An R package of the software has been available for some time now and
an Excel addin utilizing the RDCOM interface is undergoing final tests
before release. In this talk, I will describe how we exploit the R DCOM
server by Thomas Baier to provide a seamless integration to Excel,
working around some known issues, and building a complete setup package.
